Coffee
Great coffee should taste good and do good.
That’s why the partners we work with not only roast exceptional coffees, but build their businesses on strong social and environmental values. From fair pricing for farmers to championing biodiversity and inclusion, every cup served supports a more sustainable and equitable coffee industry.

Modern Standard
Founded by Lynsey Harley, Modern Standard is one of the UK’s few female-founded roasteries and proudly LGBTQ+ owned. Their ethos is rooted in inclusivity, equality and building stronger communities, both in the UK and at origin.
Modern Standard works directly with Fairtrade co-operatives to ensure farmers receive fair prices and access to robust supply chains. They also encourage crop diversification through beekeeping initiatives, helping growers earn additional income while boosting pollination and improving the health of coffee plants.
This results in better livelihoods, healthier ecosystems and consistently outstanding coffee.

Colonna
Our new coffee partner Colonna, founded by Maxwell Colonna-Dashwood, three-time UK Barista Champion and a passionate advocate for creating sustainable, ethical and fair supply chains within coffee. Their work at origin helps build resilient farming communities and protects the environments where coffee grows best.

Gorongosa National Park
Mozambique – Rebuilding Through Coffee
In the heart of Mozambique, Colonna partners with farmers in and around Gorongosa National Park to rebuild livelihoods in a region recovering from conflict.
- Coffee as a new livelihood: Coffee is being introduced as a sustainable, long-term crop, offering stable income and new farming opportunities to local communities.
- Agroforestry to protect biodiversity: Coffee plants are grown alongside cashew trees, helping restore rainforest ecology, enrich soil health, and support native wildlife.
- 10,000 new coffee trees funded: This project is expanding rapidly, creating future-proof farming systems where people and nature thrive together.

Girls Run the World
Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique
Girls Run The World donates a portion of its profits to fund girls’ education in Gorongosa: Supporting the building of schools, providing scholarships, running mentorship programmes, and opening pathways for young women across the region.

Mount Sunzu Estate
Zambia – Coffee That Protects Forests
Mount Sunzu Estate is a leading example of regenerative coffee farming in Zambia, a country that offers great potential for high grade coffee but that is new to the market.
- Fixed-price, future-proof partnerships: Farmers receive consistent, reliable pricing, shielding them from market volatility and enabling long-term investment in their land.
- Restoring native forest: The estate actively reforests the surrounding Miombo woodland, protecting wildlife habitats, improving soil health, and helping reverse the impacts of deforestation.

Blue Turaco
Uganda – Championing Fair Prices & Community Growth
Maxwell works directly with Wycliff Sande, founder of Blue Turaco which is a Ugandan co-operative pioneering a coffee growing project for high-quality robusta in the country.
- Community reinvestment: Profits are channelled back into essential education and infrastructure, strengthening the foundations of rural communities.
- Fair income for farmers: Growers are paid 30% above the local farm-gate price, ensuring stable earnings and long-term financial security.
